His Excellency, Fonie D. F. Sherman, served in Canada in the 1980s as the first Liberian Ambassador to Canada.
In conversation with Black Ottawa Scene, the former Liberian envoy, shares the story of his early years in Liberia and the unique experience of his tenure as an outstanding member of the African Diplomatic Corps.
Elder Sherman also shared his invaluable perspective about transitioning from his diplomatic assignment to becoming a Canadian citizen and how it impacted his career path and family.
