Saturday 30 June
Strachona Park on Range Road was the scene of the annual Multiculturalism Day hosted by the African Canadian Association Ottawa (ACAO) and Somerset West Community Centre. On a sweltering 45 degree (with humidity) day, over 300 people took in a dazzling display of music, dance and fine (free) barbecue food from such exotic locations as Burundi, Nigeria and Sudan.
Kudos to the event leads: ACAO President John Adeyefa and Somerset West staffer Hector Addison who ensured that participants were safe in the stifling heat, while enjoying the fine entertainment and food.
