The Blackburn Community Centre on Glen Park Drive was a hive of activity last Saturday as over a hundred participants gathered to celebrate the 13th Dapo Agoro Fun Day, organised by the Dapo Agoro Foundation For Peace. This annual event honours the memory of Oladapo Agoro, a 19-year-old, Grade 12 student at Lester B. Pearson High School who was stabbed to death while trying to break up a fight. The day included a BBQ in the park, DJ on location all day, raffle prizes, face-painting, guest speakers, sporting events and games for the kids. Among the special guests were Orleans MPP Marie-France Lalonde and Orleans MP Royal Galipeau.  This annual event strives to inspire youth through knowledge about peaceful conflict resolution and have some fun at the same time.
