Sunday 9 July
Lansdowne Park was awash with a sea of summer colours, as some two hundred fans gathered to watch Musical Director, Roxanne Goodman lead her Big Soul Project choir, in an exuberant festival of Canadian songs, in commemoration of Canada’s 150th “birthday”. Not even the threat of a downpour could discourage the revellers as they put up their umbrellas, raincoats, ponchos and whatever else they could cover themselves with, just so they could listen with awe at selections from Canadian musical icons: Gordon Lightfoot, Leonard Cohen, Rush, Bryan Adams, Claude Léveillée, Neil Young, Serena Ryder, Coco Love Alcorn, Oscar Peterson, Neil Diamond, Joni Mitchell, Claude Laveille and more.
