Many many thanks to the organizers of last night’s Canadian Congress of Black Parliamentarians‘ reception that took place on Parliament Hill. It was indeed inspiring and empowering to meet and speak with Black elected officials, senators, former politicians as well as former and current candidates for political office from across Canada who are so passionate about increasing opportunities and improving outcomes for their communities. I made some great new connections and reconnected with folks I literally hadn’t seen in years! I’m really looking forward to today’s closing press conference about the summit and next steps.

The Canadian Congress of Black Parliamentarians was first established in 2016. Made up of both Federal and Provincial representatives, participants represent various political parties, and conversations are non-partisan.
