hiring should take longer than car buyingThe question gets asked  sometimes: Which takes longer: hiring an employee, or buying a car?  There are also those who say employers don’t take enough time to screen and hire new employees.  I tend to agree with this, especially for higher stakes, professional roles.

Working with a highly reputed recruiting company a while back, I discovered that they had had some bad experiences in the past with hiring staff. They work in a regulated field where the professionals need to earn a specific degree and pass an exam, such as law and accounting.
