I’m striving to be a servant-leader looking to be the best that I can be and to give the most that I can give to my family, friends and community. I’m politically active because we’re building a new economy that’s more democratic, sustainable and egalitarian. Black people are playing a leading role as we have a long history of service, radically transforming ourselves and the world around us in a positive way.
I’ve been active in grassroots politics since I was very young and I’ve recently been involved with Occupy, the movement for climate justice and indigenous rights and campaigns to raise the minimum wage and eliminate tuition fees.
I believe that the time has come for service-oriented individuals to unite to imagine, build and manifest more inclusive, democratic and sustainable communities. I believe that progressive forces can serve in public office in order to use public policy to advance these aims, with the understanding that real change requires us the people taking matters into our own hands, relearning solidarity, compassion and reconciliation.
Lets get the job done. If you’d like to join me in building a movement for democracy and electing a progressive councillor for Capital ward, email [email protected]
