Martin Luther King Junior would have been proud. The 10th anniversary of the annual DreamKeepers Martin Luther King Day celebrations on Monday 20 January, 2014, was a special one, as former governor-general Michaelle Jean, was honoured with a Life Achievement award. VIPs in attendance included Minister of Labour Yasir Naqui, Deputy Mayor Steve Desroches standing in for Mayor Jim Watson, and Ontario Fairness Commissioner Jean Augustine. Other worthy recipients of the Dreamkeepers award were Heyam Qirbi and Allison Fisher, Executive Director of the Wabano Centre.
