Saturday 4 October – Canadian Museum of Nature

The Network of Black Business and Professional  Women added another feather to its already bulging hat with an innovative Immigrant Women’s Business Expo, organised in partnership with the Canadian Small Business Women at the Canadian Museum of Nature. The exhibits were many and varied, from cosmetics and beauty products to employment and educational programs, immigrant women entrepreneurs showed off their wares, programs and services. Mayor Jim Watson was there to welcome the participants and kick off the lively panel discussion. The esteemed panelists were: Sandra Saric/Technology Council of Ottawa; Rima Aristocrat/President & CEO of the 118-year old Willis College; Praveeni Perera/Professional Edge & Etiquette; Lili Weeman/City Councillor; Gunta Edwardson/Formerly of the EDC and presently at CIBC; and Alexandra Logvin/Commercial litigation, arbitration and international trade lawyer.
