The fifth annual VERSeFest Ottawa poetry festival was held from March 24 to 30, 2015, at various venues across the Nation’s Capital. Some 63 of the world’s most talented poets performed in various languages and genres at more than twenty events. Among these performers were spoken word artists Anthony Bansfield and John Akpata. The two were headliners at the Sunday, March 29 Hall of Honour showcase. Before taking the stage to share their talent, Bansfield and Akpata were honoured for their remarkable contributions to the development of Ottawa’s thriving spoken word scene.
