Miguel Des Armas leads Ottawa Latin Jazz conference

And it’s a wrap!!! Last night’s dazzling performances by Primary Colours and the Miguel de Armas Quartet at NAC Fourth Stage put a huge exclamation point on the immensely successful three-day Ottawa Latin Jazz Conference! The high calibre of the musicians and artists onstage and their ability to draw the audience into each song created an electric atmosphere! It was muy muy caliente for sure!! I feel so honoured to have been part of this music industry history in our Nation’s Capital. Miguel and his team along with Latin Hub Canada have sparked a movement in support of this beautiful musical genre and its exhilarating diversity. You guys are on your way to putting Ottawa on the map as a Latin Jazz hub! Just look at all the incredible national, international and local talent that sold out the Fourth Stage all three nights! Ottawans are hungry for this music! Muchas gracias to all the folks who supported this first edition! I hope many more of you will support Latin jazz artists between now and the next edition in 2025! Go see their shows. Buy their music. Demand that radio stations play their music. Spotlight them on social media. Ask festivals to hire them. As Michelle Obama says: do something!
