Robyn Maynard’s new book “Policing Black Lives” exposes racial injustice in Canada

Some 200 people from Ottawa’s diverse communities were at the Ottawa Public Library auditorium on Metcalfe Street, for the launch of a ground breaking book “Policing Black Lives”, by Montreal author, Robyn Maynard. The book systematically chronicles the history of maltreatment and other injustices meted to people of African descent,going back some 200 years, including the country’s involvement with slavery and the criminalization of Indigenous and Black Canadians.
