The 2015 Ottawa International Film Festival’s 72 hour challenge, required filmmakers to write, produce and edit a short film between February 12 and February 15. On February 12 at 7 p.m., contestants were each given a list of elements that had to be incorporated, such as a $5 bill, a maple candy, sports, a character running on Bank Street, and the line, “People! People! Can’t We All Just Get Along?” On one of the coldest weekends of the year, Henry Eruotor gathered a very talented cast and crew to film Undertow, a story written by local screenwriter Caeden Lawrence. On February 27, with a proud and excited film crew in attendance, Undertow was screened to a large audience and awarded third place out of the twenty films submitted.
