It was a packed house as the the Jamaican Ottawa Community Association (JOCA) hosted its annual national heroes awards gala at the Centurion conference Centre on Colonnade Road, on Saturday 17th October. Among the award winners were:
Youth Business Award: Ms. Katrice Bent – Justice Productions – Ottawa
Business Award: Ms. Paula Whitelocke – Owner – Curly Hair Designs
Volunteer of the Year Award: Ms. Avice Small
Jamaican High Commission’s Award – Dr. Vincent Gilpin
