Jamaican Self-Help Easter Songs Fund-raiser

On Sunday, March 22, 2015, Jamaican Self-Help partnered with Trinity Anglican Church to hold a fundraising concert presented under the patronage of Her Excellency the High Commissioner for Jamaica to Canada. The Easter-themed program emceed by JSH-Ottawa member Irvin Stewart featured performances by the Ottawa Seventh-day Adventist Children’s Choir, Steve & Friends, the Bromley Road Baptist Church Quintet, Kabungulu Music Gang, and the Ni Wewe Tu Singers. Jamaica’s new High Commissioner to Canada, Mrs. Janice Miller, made opening remarks, and JSH Ottawa member Amalia Gentles provided an update on her research with local partners in Kingston Jamaica. Headquartered in Peterborough, Ontario, Jamaican Self-Help is a Canadian NGO that supports programs for children and youth located in inner-city Kingston, in Jamaica.
